So, I’ve finally managed to achieve something I planned to achieve before I launched the site. We now actually have a profile relevant to our love of the MK1, after all it is why we are all here.
There are now a handful of new fields in your user profile so you can tell us a bit about your bike and your locality. That way, when we know where you all are, we’ll be able to target locations for future meets as to the most convenient places for the majority.
Not only that, you international lads will be able to see where other MK1’s are local to yourselves and maybe organise some meets yourselves in your own neck of the woods.
Another plan for this data is to try and publish a map with the towns in which are bikes reside, like a register so we can all see at a glance where all the bikes are globally. Don’t worry I wont be putting a pin into Streetview announcing to the world “There is a Speed Triple in this garage!” Anything published will be vague, so to only the nearest major town or city.
Just pop on over to your profile and fill out the new bits…… oh and while I’m at it have a look at Gravatar. It’s a website where you can upload an avatar once and use that same avatar on many other sites. We support it and it’s a funky little thing, so spice up your profile and avatar to really help push the social side of the site.
As always we are here to help, post a comment here if you get stuck or punt us an e-mail
Hi Silkie,
I am a Speed Triple fanatic but own a Speed Triple 900 tribute (copy)! Therefore I am not sure if I should be filling in the new profile details option since mine is not an original? What are your thoughts? I couldn’t find a good condition Speed Triple when looking to buy so opted to get a mint 1998 Trident and upgraded it, quite a lot. I mainly used a crashed 1995 Diablo Black Speed Triple 900 for parts, and some other parts from various other Speed Triple 900s and Daytona 900s and 1200s. Hope to meet you all in June.
Best,
Bane
I’ll have a think about that one tonight and sort something out for you Bane, leave it with me. 🙂
